On Walpurgis Night, the restaurant Josefinas at Djurgården in Stockholm had its opening weekend. However, according to reports, Thursday ended in a “riot” and “severe violence,” forcing the restaurant to shut down.
Yesterday, Josefinas, located on the beautiful Djurgården, reportedly had its opening or soft launch. Walpurgis offered fine weather—sunny and relatively warm—which, given the restaurant’s waterfront location with plenty of sun, promised to attract a large crowd.

But the day did not end well. According to unconfirmed information received by Samnytt, it became extremely violent, and a source said he had “never seen such severe violence” as on Walpurgis night. “It was probably close to people losing their lives,” the source continued, describing the event as a “riot.”
In mainstream media, such as Aftonbladet, it is only reported as a “fight,” that “one person was taken into custody under LOB,” and that there was a “bad atmosphere.”
Trouble in Several Places
According to police, disturbances took place in several locations around the country in connection with the Walpurgis celebrations, where situations escalated into brawls and led to intoxicated individuals being taken into custody.
