Two prison officers at the Norrtälje Correctional Facility outside Norrtälje have been indicted for aggravated bribery. At the same time, six men, one of whom is gang leader Eddie Jobe, are charged with bribing the officers.
The two prison officers are accused of smuggling mobile phones to inmates at the facility. They allegedly did this for payment during the autumn of last year.
One of the prison officers, a 25-year-old man, is said to have received 8,000 kronor for smuggling the phones. The other officer, a 31-year-old woman, had a higher price tag and, according to the indictment, received at least 32,000 kronor.
Gang Leader
The person regarded as the main figure behind the bribery scheme is Eddie Jobe, leader of the so-called A-faction in Gothenburg. The A-faction is a criminal group based in the suburb of Biskopsgården, which has been behind several high-profile murders.
The people who received the phones are several men serving prison sentences at Norrtälje Correctional Facility, which is classified as security level 1. Among them is a man serving a sentence for involvement in a murder in Gamlestaden, Gothenburg, in 2020.

Inmates at the Norrtälje facility generally have access to a phone for talking with relatives. However, this right does not apply to network criminals, who are only permitted supervised calls.
This is why criminals try to smuggle cell phones into the facilities. Last year, four illegal phones were seized at Norrtälje Correctional Facility.
Eight Indicted
Now a total of eight people are indicted—two prison officers and six connected to the criminal network—for aggravated bribery (both giving and taking). The two prison officers are also indicted for gross misconduct in public office.
The 25-year-old officer has previous convictions. In 2019, he was convicted for unlawful threats and minor assault. He is now also charged with minor drug offences, as police found cocaine at his home.
The defendants have various responses to the accusations, with several choosing neither to confess nor deny the crimes during questioning.
